Simon Cross, president of the Yachts Division of Travelopia, which owns Sunsail and The Moorings issued a statement on the company's policy in regard to the COVID-19 virus:

As President of the Yachts division of Travelopia responsible for The Moorings and Sunsail charter brands, I want to take this time to provide an update regarding how our businesses are responding to the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 virus. With 50 years of experience in the travel industry we have navigated turbulent waters in the past, and we are taking necessary steps to mitigate this new challenge.

Above all else, the safety and well-being of our guests and employees is always our utmost priority, and to that end we are closely monitoring all updates and following any advice issued by the CDC, WHO, FCO, international government entities and international airlines.

The dedicated Travel Advisory pages on our websites are being updated regularly, so you can rely on these resources to stay informed and stay aware of any precautionary measures that may need to be taken when traveling to certain destinations.

Operationally, we have amplified our base maintenance and yacht housekeeping efforts to ensure the same safe and clean environment that we’ve always strived to uphold, and that our loyal charterers have come to expect.

Most importantly, we are working diligently with our guests to offer as much flexibility as possible. In this time of uncertainty, we want to provide you with the peace of mind that you can book with confidence, knowing we are here to support you every step of the way.

Please note our change policy is as follows:

If the US State department advises against all but essential travel to your charter destination as a result of the COVID-19 virus, we will be contacting you directly to discuss your options for any guests with charters departing before May 31, 2020.
