New Boat Showcase
It’s boat show season, and this year there is a range of new boats hitting the shows from Newport to Miami. From a fun inflatable dinghy and a foiling racer to comfy cruisers, our editors share some of the exciting new designs.
J/Boats is unveiling its latest design at the fall shows. The newest addition to the J Sport range that includes the J/121 and J/112, this 32-foot offshore racer-cruiser is currently in development at J/Composites in Les Sables d’Olonne, France. “The J/99 opens up a wide range of sailing possibilities,” said designer Alan Johnstone. “The versatile sailplan, balanced hull form and efficient cockpit will work as well for shorthanded offshore sailing as for weekend sailing with friends. The J/99 packs a lot of performance and versatility into a manageable size and budget.” The J/99 is available in both a single- and double-rudder setups with tiller or wheel steering options. Down below, the roomy interior sleeps two to four on the high side, with optional flip-up pilotberths.
