The 44’s 13-foot, 9-inch beam carries all the way aft, and the cockpit makes the most of it. The cockpit is spacious, with long seats and a folding table, which becomes a convenient handhold when moving aft. The traveler recessed in the cockpit sole is located just forward of the helms and provides good control with end-boom sheeting. Simple canvas line bags keep the cockpit tidy.

Located at the very aft end of the cockpit are twin helms with carbon wheels that are on coaming-mounted pedestals, which frees up cockpit space. Multifunction B&G displays are located at both helms. Two Harken winches are within hands reach just forward of each helm. A manual drop-down swim step on the transom has a nifty flip down swim ladder. 

The Flexiteek decks with gray caulking looked sharp and felt solid under foot. On-deck storage space includes a large anchor chain and windless locker and a large sail bin on the bow and, a dedicated life raft locker and large lazarette in
the cockpit.

Down below

The crisp and bright interior seems almost minimalistic, yet the 44 has all the creature comforts needed for cruising. The wide open saloon is finished in light oak. Six opening hatches combined with in-hull windows and eyebrow windows in the short cabinhouse provide plenty of light and ventilation. The L-shaped galley is to port, with a three-burner stove and oven, single sink and front opening refrigerator. To starboard is the guest head with a full shower. Twin double cabins are tucked aft, each with standing room and hanging lockers.

A U-shaped settee and dining table are to port, and the table can be lowered to make an additional berth. The chart table has room for a laptop and charts, and the electrical panel is tucked away in an outboard locker. The chart table’s pull out seat can be used for an additional dining seat. 

The owner’s suite is located in the bow. A large centerline queen berth has good access from both sides. Overhead lockers, a hanging locker and extra lockers in the head provide storage space.
